Technical Consultant / Solution Architect

Title: Technical Consultant / Solution Architect Reporting to: Head of Services

Main Purpose of Job

To undertake project activities to deliver solutions to customers.  To assist in the delivery of security technology consulting services to customers, including requirements capture, solution architectures, technology integration, interoperability testing and training.

 

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Undertake customer project activities to deliver solutions, including planning, technology implementation, configuration, documentation, training and building support rigs.
  • Understand Nexor’s technical product portfolio and maintain a good working knowledge in order to assist with the design and development of technical solutions to business problems.
  • Undertake technical pre-sales engagements with appropriate customers.
  • Assist with design and integrate solutions architectures using the SIXA® architecture, where applicable, to maximise the benefit to Nexor.
  • Undertake delivery of internal projects as required.
  • Develop product training material, and other product artefacts needed for solution delivery.
  • Build Nexor appliances and standard products.
  • Undertake Project / customer support activities.
  • Provide support to the Solutions Architect and pre-sales team.

Other Duties

  • Support the business in marketing and pre-sales activities.
  • Provide into Nexor’s processes as part of continual improvement.
  • Obtain and maintain appropriate professional qualifications.
  • Work with Product Leads to feedback on issues with current products and propositions, and to provide input around new products and services.
  • May be required to work unsociable hours in order to meet the demands of the role. This may be at short notice in exceptional circumstance.
  • Prepared to travel as required.

Required Skills to be successful in this role

The candidate should be able to demonstrate strong ability and experience in the following areas:
• Strong written and spoken communication and presentation skills.
• Strong collaboration with other team members.
• Competence with RedHat and Linux.
• Bash scripting.
• Either holding UK Security Clearance or willingness to undergo UK Security Clearances is key to this role.

Required Knowledge to be successful in this role

The candidate should be able to demonstrate good working knowledge in the following areas:
• Networking principles (VLANS, Sub-netting, Fibre-Optic Networks).
• File-share and email protocols.
• Cloud infrastructure (Public / Private Cloud).
• Agile methodologies.
• Computer networks security.

Locations

• The role will be home based with regular travel to customer sites within the UK.
