Role Overview

The Senior Cyber & Information Assurance Consultant role sits at the junction of cyber resilience, operational capability and secure data ecosystems. The position focuses on shaping and delivering capabilities that enable trusted data exchange across domains, supporting emerging approaches such as data fabric architectures and digital data security within complex, multi-domain environments. 

The role requires an individual comfortable operating across strategy, assurance and execution, with the credibility to advise senior stakeholders and the pragmatism to work alongside delivery teams to achieve outcomes. 


Key Responsibilities

Operational Capability & Data Integration 

  • Translate operational requirements into secure, data-enabled solutions 

  • Support development of data fabric and interoperability capabilities across defence systems 

  • Enable secure integration of data across platforms, environments and coalition partners 

Cyber Resilience & Digital Data Security 

  • Design and implement cyber assurance approaches across programmes 

  • Embed data protection, access control and trust mechanisms within systems 

  • Ensure secure handling, movement and exploitation of data across domains 

Align delivery with recognised frameworks including: 

  • NCSC Cyber Assessment Framework 

  • Defence Standard 05-138 

  • ISO/IEC 27001 

Programme & Delivery Contribution 

  • Support delivery teams in high-tempo, complex environments 

  • Contribute to planning, execution and problem resolution 

  • Ensure alignment between data architecture, security and operational use 

Stakeholder Engagement & Advisory 

  • Advise senior stakeholders on data-centric operations, cyber risk and interoperability challenges 

  • Translate technical risk into clear decision-making insight 

  • Influence capability development across customer and partner organisations 

Innovation & Thought Leadership 

  • Contribute to Nexor’s position in secure data fabrics and digital interoperability 

  • Support development of new services aligned to data-driven defence strategies 

  • Bring operational perspective into innovation, R&D and capability demonstrators 


Qualification & Experience

Core Skills

  • Cyber security and resilience in operational environments 

  • Digital data security, including secure data exchange and access control 

  • Understanding of data fabric concepts, interoperability and multi-domain data flows 

  • Risk management and assurance in complex systems 

  • Programme and project delivery in high-pressure contexts 

  • Stakeholder engagement at senior levels 

  • Systems thinking across operational and technical domains 

  • Innovation and capability development 

Experience 

  • Defence, national security, or similarly complex operational environments 

  • Delivery of data-enabled capabilities, information systems, or interoperability solutions 

  • Experience of secure data handling across multiple domains or organisations 

  • Working across multiple stakeholders (military, government, industry) 

  • Experience of both planning and execution 


Qualifications

Relevant qualifications include: 

  • CISSP 

  • CISM 

  • ISO/IEC 27001 Lead Auditor 

  • Equivalent experience considered equally valuable.
