Main Purpose of Job


Deliver security architect consulting services to customers for designing, building and reviewing secure solutions. This will involve combining broad technical and security skills with communication and business analysis.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Work with security professionals to understand their concerns and develop suitable architectures to address these.

  • Identify solutions and recommend secure architecture to support customer business objectives.

  • Capture, analyse and review customer requirements to deliver high quality input into bids and add value to proposals.

  • Engage with and communicate with stakeholders and add value to wider team discussions.

  • Understand and maintain a sound working knowledge of Nexor’s technical product portfolio to assist with the design and development of technical solutions to business problems.

  • Contribute to and influence new technical developments and advise on appropriate approaches within our markets.

  • Undertake technical pre-sales engagements with customers.

  • Design and document solution architectures using the SIXA® architecture, where applicable, to maximise benefit to Nexor.

  • Develop networking relationships with customer and industry contacts to seek opportunity to offer Nexor’s services, products, technologies, and expertise to support businesses and operations.

Other Duties

  • Support Nexor's processes as part of continual improvement.

  • Research or develop new techniques or tools.

  • Review other peoples’ work and provide valuable critical feedback.

  • Act as mentor to more junior members of the profession.

  • Obtain and maintain appropriate qualifications and certifications for individual Continuous Professional Development.

  • May be required to work unsociable hours to meet the demands of the role. This may be at short notice in exceptional circumstance.

  • Prepared to travel as required.

Required Skills to be successful in this role

Candidates should be able to demonstrate strong ability and experience in the following areas:

  • Strong written and spoken communication with presentation skills.

  • Good collaboration with other team members.

  • Ability to be innovative and conceptualise.

  • Highly analytical and capable of working at different levels of abstraction.

  • Designing high level architectures using standardised approaches and tools.

  • Translating requirements and technical specifications into detailed designs.

  • Possess UK Security Clearance or be willing to undergo UK Security Clearance vetting.

Required Knowledge to be successful in this role

Candidates should be able to demonstrate good working knowledge in the following areas:

  • Knowledge of security standards, processes, and application of security enforcing measures.

  • Networking principles (VLANS, Sub-netting, Fibre-Optic Networks).

  • Cloud infrastructure (Public / Private Cloud).

  • Agile methodologies.

  • ArchiMate.

 Candidates with experience of working with the Ministry of Defence (MOD) is desirable.

Locations

  • The role will be home based with regular travel to customer sites within the UK.

  • Some overseas travel might be required for specific customers.
