Deployed forces - Delivering messaging services over mobile and tactical networks

This paper describes the specific messaging requirements of deployed forces.

It discusses how three common themes run through many of the operational issues: communicating information through restricted bandwidths, operating under radio silence and achieving adequate reliability with limited resources. This is followed by a brief review of the technologies that enable solutions to these requirements to be implemented, including standards, protocols and techniques. Potential solutions are then discussed, showing how services can be maximised even under severe operating constraints.

The final section of this paper introduces Nexor products and services that can play a part in delivering effective communications networks to deployed forces.

The attached paper (325.12 kb) explores the issues.
