Nexor Awarded Contract for Twelve Sentinel 3 High Assurance Mailguards
Nexor is pleased to announce the receipt of a substantial contract for the supply of twelve Sentinel 3 high assurance mailguards to a European, NATO allied, defence force. The Sentinels will be deployed in a secure maritime environment and used to maintain separation between security domains and enforce security policy between the different network classifications. Six systems were shipped at the end of 2011, with the remainder to follow during this year.
In support of this and other major customer programmes, Sentinel 3 is currently undergoing Common Criteria evaluation to EAL4+ with Brightsight in The Netherlands.
Developed at Nexor’s Nottingham based CyberShield Secure™ development facility, Sentinel 3 is built on the market-leading, open source RedHat SELinux platform, which is also evaluated to EAL 4+. Compared to the previous generation of secure guard platforms, SELinux offers several advantages including an assured continuity of supply and an ongoing development programme for the platform. Nexor has established itself as one of the premier SELinux development capabilities in Europe.
CyberShield Secure™ encompasses a highly mature secure software engineering methodology. Developed over 20 years and consistently augmented with contemporary best practice from leading authorities in government and industry it forms an integral part of the Nexor Sentinel 3 assurance paradigm.
